We collect information you provide directly, such as your email address when you create an account. We also collect usage data automatically, including pages visited and actions taken within the platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and improve VoucherVillage, personalise your experience, and communicate with you about your account. We may also use aggregated data for analytics and platform improvements.
3. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with service providers who assist in operating the platform, or when required by law. Any third-party providers are bound by data protection obligations. We use PostHog, a product analytics service, to understand how users interact with the platform. PostHog processes data within the European Union (EU data residency) and receives only anonymised usage data — no personally identifiable information such as email addresses or names is shared. When you upload a voucher image for sharing, the image may be sent to Anthropic (our AI provider) to extract voucher details such as face value, barcode, and expiry date. Anthropic processes this data under their usage policy and does not use it to train AI models. No personally identifiable information is included in these requests — only the voucher image itself is sent. Before the image is processed, a cropping tool allows you to control exactly which portion of the image is sent — you can remove any personal or sensitive information before submission.
4. Payment Information
All payments on VoucherVillage are processed by Stripe. VoucherVillage does not store your card numbers, bank details, or other sensitive financial information. We store only a Stripe customer ID in our database for the purpose of managing your subscription. For details on how Stripe handles your payment data, please refer to Stripe's privacy policy.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. After account deletion, data is removed within the grace period specified in our terms. Anonymised data may be retained for analytics.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, and port your personal data. You may also restrict or object to processing. This includes the right to request deletion of payment-related data held by VoucherVillage (such as your Stripe customer ID). Please note that Stripe may retain certain transaction records as required by law for tax compliance and fraud prevention purposes. 7. Cookies & Tracking
VoucherVillage uses essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences. We do not use third-party tracking cookies for advertising. Additionally, Stripe may set cookies for fraud detection and payment security when you interact with checkout or subscription management pages. We collect anonymised usage analytics using PostHog to improve the platform experience. No cookies are set for analytics purposes — analytics data is stored in memory only and is not persisted across sessions. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
8. Children's Privacy
VoucherVillage is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
9. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated via the platform. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
